Hi, I am making a large cake with Stork, never used it before. Followed usual recipe, and it's really sloppy. Is sork more sloppy, or shall i add more flour (8 x8 x4). stork website says 8 x8x 4 too. So maybe its just the stork??

8x8x4?

It should be -

8oz flour
4oz stork
4oz sugar
4 eggs

I think

I'd do same weight flour, sugar, marg, eg 8 oz, and half no of oz in eggs - ie 4 - your recipe sounds right to me OP.

I usually use Stork, and it is fine.

Just looked at Delia's recipe and she says equal quantities of flour, sugar and butter - so it looks as if I'm wrong (but I buy my cakes now)

Are you using a low fat version?

If so, it probably has a lot of water in it which would make the mixture sloppy.

Thanks - well i just kept adding more flour to thicken it up, so I hope it tastes ok. Maybe the stork makes it really runny! It's half the price of butter, so thought I would try it! Will let you know!

Just looked, it's in a tub, doesn't say low fat!

I use stork and I do 6x6x6 and 3 eggs - works every time for me!

I always use stork for baking and it works every time for me too. I use the 8x8x8x4
