Favourite smoothies?

I know you basically just mix up some fruit with milk/yogurt/fruit juice, but was wondering if anyone had any particularly fantastic combinations?

Also - can you mix up frozen berries that are still frozen?!

Thanks!

I don't think you can beat strawberry and banana - lovely.

Not sure I understand the mixing frozen berries bit - do you mean a punnet of strawbs mixed with a punnet of raspberries? Yes if you can stop them from all clumping together when frozen.

If you are lazy like me you can justify buying smoothies as according to the innocent packaging they claim that its cheaper to buy their smoothies rather than all the ingredients to make them

My fave (and my DTD's fave (they're nearly 4)) is banana, raspberry and peach. I use frozen raspberries and tend to half defrost them in the microwave first, that way they blend well but the smoothie is lovely and cold. I also use the peaches that come in pots (don't do tinned, but my Dsis does and it's fine) I do the fruit first, then (if I can be bothered - but often not)seive the rapsberry seeds out (used to always do it when DTDs were smaller) then add greek yogurt and orange juice and blitz it up again. Yum! Sometimes we put blueberries in too. My other fave is banana and mango, again with greek yogurt and orange juice.

Yes you can buy tubs of frozen mixed berries from tesco!

strawberries, banana, blueberries. yogurt, and blueberry juice. Is one of my favourites. You can substitute pineapple for blueberries, and passionfruit juice for blueberry juice.

I also do a breakfast one which is banana, milk, yogurt, couple of spoons of porridge oats, and a little crushed flax seed or oatbran. Very thick and filling.

I love mango lassi - blend mango (chopped up fresh one or a tin and its juice) with natural yoghurt and a bit of icing sugar if needed and then pour it over lots of ice - it needs to be really, really cold to make it nice.

Banana and strawberry. Or banana and frozen blueberries or banana and raspberry. Or freshly squeezed pear and root ginger.

Though when my son is too skinny, which happens when he has a growth spurt, I make him Banoffee smoothie - Banana, milk, cream and a dollop that Carnation toffee caramel stuff that comes in tins. He loves it but it's not exactly healthy.

Thank you everyone for these ideas.

Ds (5) has shot up and is very skinny so I definitely need to get some more fat into him, so like the banoffee idea too!

Mangoes, fresh lime juice, good glug of dark rum.
