How can I work out how much meat in weight i'll get from a chicken?

Need a certain amount of meat, shall i just get one that is double the weight to make sure?

bird bones don't weigh that much but as I wouldn't know how much they do weigh I would buy double and then freeze the rest of the meat or whatever, recipes annoy me when they aren't as specific as I need them to be just thought you'll need to remove the skin aswell

Thanks Jen, it's annoying isn't it, plus its cooked meat i need to have to tak into account that fat will come out?!?!?
