Hi,

Im new to baking and trying to cook Gluten Free Wheat Free things.

I was just about to make Scones and i cant find my GF baking powder. Do i really need it? lol it needs 1 1/2 x 5ml tsb. I was going to double the recipe to make lots so it would need 3 x 5ml tsb.

I have Xanthan Gum and Dried yeast.....

As you can tell i have no idea and thought i would ask mums net for advise

Thank you

It won't be a scone without either self-raising flour, baking powder (or bicarb + something acidic). If you used yeast you would end up with bread.

They have a tendency to rock cakes anyway, so would be dire without.

Check out Dan Lepard for lovely light gf scones btw
