Meat Free Monday

anyone else doing it?

not specifically Mondays but we've made a conscious effort to cut down the amount of meat we're eating we've now agreed to try 2 or more days a week, it's easier than I thought. also when we do cook meat, we're cooking less of it.

we're doing it for three reasons:

health
eco-friendly
and the most important one that finally made us do it - money!!!

just thought I'd share... don't really know why

I really don't know why vegetarians didn't ask a bit of advice before they launched the idea. I don't eat a lot of meat but on Monday I use up the meat that I buy on Sunday. Anyone could have told them to go for a different (workable) day and slogan, if they had bothered to ask. Monday is always something like shepherd's pie, risotto or curry-all meat based. It is hardly eco friendly to throw it away!

Couldn't agree more Piscesmoon - it makes no sense at all.

Always have cold cuts on Monday with veg or salad, following roast on Sunday.

Personally, we always have a veggie dish on Thursday. May think about introducing it on Tuesdays too.

Overall concept sound though so good luck with it MathsMadMummy!
