Eating out in Bristol/North Somerset

Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere to go for a pub lunch in this area. I am looking for somewhere child friendly that serves good home cooked food. Preferably with an outside space for the children to play in. Have friends travelling down the M5 so looking for anywhere from South Glos to Clevedon. Thanks!

Lockhouse Lounge Portishead, beside pebble "beach/estuary" & outdoor Lido pool.

Thx, this looks great. My mouth is watering just looking at the menu!

They don't have a specific children's menu but they serve children's portions of the adult food eg fish & chips.
Two other places with plenty of outdoor space, both overlooking the estuary are The Royal and The Windmill.

I reckon the food at The Royal is better than The Windmill.

Thanks for the recommendations, they are really useful. My kids are (finally)more open to trying food in pubs - we have wasted so much money on untouched food! I have never tried The Royal so will add that to my list.
