Our neighbour gave us loads of strawberries, do you know any good recipes? They are not that great, we live in Spain and they are not the yummy English ones, but a bit tasteless really.

can you make a coulis with them?
it's lovely poured over a strawberry cheesecake.
or make add shortbread to a basic vanilla icecream recipe and add the strawbs.
also good with eton mess or a granita
the pyo season isn't upon us yet here so i'm also making do with elsanta lol

Jam?

Thanks, I made a strawberry coulis and a strawberry cheesecake tonight. They were yummy. Any more ideas? Some sort of tart, but not with the strawberries just stuck on the top?

Jam is a great idea, I have mountains and mountains of them to use.

When my strawberries have 'turned' slightly I make crumble with them, makes a delicious jammy tasting crumble!

If they are a bit tasteless, zip them up with any of the following:

  • balsamic vinegar
  • black pepper
  • vanilla

I made a very nice strawberry and rhubarb crumble last weekend with some spectacularly average strawbs.

Smoothies and ice lollies are another option.
