'Expires' today, can I cook it now and have it cold tomorrow? We had our dinner out unexpectedly. It looks fine but I haven't sniffed it.

TIA

It doesn't have a little timer inside it that makes it go off at exactly midnight. Smell everything though, even if you are cooking it before it's used by date.

I'd use it if it didn't smell.

Would be fine to cook it tommorow i expect, we have done this in the past. Sniff it before you use it to be sure.

Sniff test is the best IMO. I always buy my meat from the reduced counter so 'expires that day' and i'm still here . Although may have compromised a few of my marbles

Love the idea of the little timer!

Crispy, I couldn't possibly comment on that...

Hmm, a timer. I'm seeing a business opportunity here

aseriouslyblondemoment · 27/05/2010 21:51

will be fine to cook tomorrow i expect but as everyone else says you'll have to do the old sniff test!
was it bought fresh or frozen?

Rockbird · 27/05/2010 22:54

Bought fresh and was headed for a curry which will disguise any oddity
