Please help a slow cooker first timer!

I've had my Mum's for years but never used it, so giving it a go for tonight's dinner.

So I've put in boneless chicken thighs, onions, chorizo, tin tomatoes and red wine, and I've put it in low. Is this right? Now do I just leave it? For how long?

if it's all in now it should be ready around 4-ish if not sooner.
the smell will give it away lol.
just leave it on warm if you're not planning on eating til later.
one tip with slow cookers is not to overfill them with liquid,the meat only just needs to be covered but if you do find that you have alot of sauce at the end of cooking time it's easily thickened with cornflour.
i promise you that you'll be hooked on your slow cooker i absolutely love mine,there are alot of recipes available on MN and it's also easy to modify your usual recipes too

another tip is to zap liquids in the microwave first so they are near boiling.

otherwise the slow cooker takes a couple of hours just to heat it.

Just come in from work and it smells divine! Am gonna leave it on for a bit longer, can't do it any harm I figure; there's loads of liquid in it.

Was delicious. I am def doing this again!

I did have a lot of juice left though, which I've frozen and I guess I'll just chuck it into something else. Waste not want not!

it's really great for using all those cheap cuts of meat you can get and also fab for cooking whole chickens etc...as you can tell i can't get enough of mine
