Does anyone know if a boned leg of lamb weighing 750g will be enough for 5 adults (women)? I thought it would be but now i'm not so sure.

It will be 3 courses and I will serve italian bread with it as per the menu. I have bought a back up leg but would rather use the other as it has been defrosted. tia

I wouldn't have said 750g of boned leg of lamb will be enough for 5 adults as the bone ends up weighing quite a lot and i'm sure me and my boyfriend normally buy one that weighs about 500g for the two of us.

We're not overweight and we don't overeat so hopefully I'm not completely off the mark on this!!

Nigella has a leg of lamb recipe serving 8 with a 2.5kg leg, call that 1.25kg for 4, minus the bone, 1 kg of lamb needed for 4 ....

so I think 750g boned for 5 will be a respectable albeit ladylike portion as you are serving a 3 course meal with bread.

Sounds nice, enjoy your evening!

Can I just check if by "boned leg" you mean without the bone - that's what I understood?

I think it will be fine, esp if you big up the veggies. You could always do a warm lamb salad, you need much less meat for that. Have some recipes if you like.

I would think so - that's 150g per person and lamb is quite fatty, so should be fine.

I'd probably have some bread and cheeses as well just in case...

Yes sorry I meant deboned as in no bone in it lol. Well I can always eat the scraps

I'll risk it. thanks

Not sure what the starter and dessert are but i'm doing lamb with pancetta, rosemary & garlic with rosemary pan roasted new pots, courgettes with chili and coriander and fine beans. Washed down with plenty of prosecco and focaccia. They are coming here at 7.30 ish and not tidied put dd to bed or prepared anything. hmmmm. It'll be fine!!! Thanks again,.

Ah i'm glad you had enough! I must have gotten confused by your first post, I thought you meant it weighed 750g with the bone! Not without!

Post the recipe up as it sounded lovely
