Eating out suggestions in Camden area - London

DD & I plus a friend are meeting up with a family of 6 tomorrow afternoon.

The family of 6 are over from Oz for 6/52, and are spending a week in London. They want to go round Camden Market in the am, so we've arranged to meet up with them for a late lunch.

Does anyone have any bright ideas of child friendly pubs/eateries that do half decent food in and around the Camden/Primrose Hill area?

Big ask, I know - esp. as the weather is going to be a scorcher!

hmm. There's the Engineer in Primrose Hill (gastropub), but it will be heaving so you'd need to book really.

There's a place called Market on Parkway that gets good reviews - again I am sure you'd need to book.

Disclaimer: never been to either.

How about La Porchetta pizza place towards Chalk Farm tube? It's very child friendly and good value. (I've never been on a Sat afternoon though)

Funnily enough, they suggested the Engineer, but when I rang earlier to enquire, I was told that the garden was fully booked (quelle surpris?) and that you can only have tables for 2 hrs before 1430hrs.

La Porchetta/Market could be goer - I will investigate....

Now booked table @ Engineer for 1430 onwards!

And it was jolly good too - we had a table in one of the dining rooms upstairs, thank God - it was a scorcher on Sat and the kids wouldve been burnt to a crisp in the garden!

Food good & reasonably priced.

Then we let the kids run around Regents Park afterwards whilst we caught up with each other!
