Foodie guide/recommendations in Cornwall

Well we've almost booked our camping hols & I'm astonishingly giddy

Since my earthly pleasures revolve almost entirely around food, buying thereof, preparing, cooking & eating, give me any recommendations, whether it be shops, farm shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, local specialities to try (you can assume massive pasty consumption). Oh & booze as well - we're not averse to a tipple or 3.
I especially have a weakness for stinky cheese, & real ales & DP is a Fish & Chips afficionado (so yes it warrants capitalisation in his mind!).

Oh & we're staying near Redruth but intend to use that as a central base & do loads of driving around including Padstein.

TIA

I had the best fish and chips ever in Looe - as you come over the bridge from the car parks it's the first one after Boots. Get a take away and then sit by the boats.

Probably pointing out the obvious but Rick Stein has a fish and chip shop and a Bistro and a restaurant in Padstein Padstow. We had the fish and chips and we went in his deli and had pasties and they were lovely.

can def recommend a trip to roskillys by st.keverne...ice cream to die for
they also have the most wonderful bbq's most summer evenings often with live music
always a great way to finish off a day on the beach
oh and if you haven't already tried it you must taste rattler cider

Avoid Stein's. Really over rated, and not very good.

If you go to Padstow, Margot's is good, and No 6 has an 'interesting' menu, but have a look before you venture out as it appeals to some, and not to others.

The beach cafe at Watergate Bay is good (underneath Jamie Oliver's restaurant). Saw Damon Hill there in a wet suit!
