Hello... any african foodies out there? I'm trying to get hold of some Egosi and not sure whether to go for ready ground or whole. Also, where to buy as they seem so expensive online! I'm in London..

TIA

Is it the same as egusi? Whereabouts in London are you? You can find just about anything in some of the little shops in Peckham round Rye Lane if you're prepared to look. Khan's Bargain Ltd on Rye Lane is good. Otherwise, Brixton market would be a good bet.

I've never bought it myself. My experience of African food is fairly mainstream - jollof rice etc.

Sorry yes it is egusi. I'm in East London. Maybe I'll try up in Hackney as where I am the shops are Turkish or Bengali. South London is a bit of a trek from here! The recipe I want to make is for Palava sauce, which goes very well with jollof rice.
