Avocado and 3 year olds?

Hi I am doing my NVQ3 and having an ob done on me tommorrow about Handas Surprise, for those of you that don't know the story it involves alot of fruit! Anyway one of the fruits is an avocado, I am hoping to take all the fruits in to preschool and let the children feel the skins and smell them. I was also going to let them taste them. Is avocado ok for 3 year olds many years ago I was told not to give it to them. Also what would be the best way to prepare it for a group of 3 year olds, will they eat it if I just peel it and chop it up?
TIA

never heard anything about avoiding avocado. I think I weaned my daughter on the stuff.

The Handa's Surprise theme sounds great though. I bet your charges will love it.

Avocado fine for three year olds. Mine detested it though :-( You could try having a hlaf may half natural yogurt to dip the slices in, this might go down better?

avocado is fine, all of mine have had it as a first weaning food... never heard of avoiding it

It is fine as long as you peel it and it is ripe. Lovely mixed with bananas for babies.

not sure why you might need to avoid avocado but my dd refused to eat it when she was small.
