Father in law in hospital... we are visiting and also collecting stuff from brother in law tonight...

the result i have no idea when we will be eating, but we are likely to arrive home lateish so i have decided to be organised and bung a load of stuff in my slowcooker.. i have google recipies etc and sort of made up my own but not sure how long to cook it

I Have browned some sausages and put them in slow cooker with:
1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 sweet potatoe, 2 white potatoe, the few bits of pepper / courgette / mushroom i have left in my fridge, a tin of chopped tomatoes, some beef stock and herbs...

It went on on high at 11pm... was thinking of turning it down to low when i leave for hospital... guessing at 2pmish... so 3 hours on high, then im sure we wont eat til 7 or even 8 so it will have 5 / 6 hours on low?

Will that turn my courgettes / mushrooms to mush? Should i turn it to low earlier?

will turn cougettes to a mush. Would do those seperately in frying pan when you get home. Would just leave it on low otherwise everything will be very overcooked i think

i only do raw chicken breasts on the bone for 3 hrs on high and they are much thicker than sausages. Hope you like them well done

got a brilliant recipe with chicken pieces on the bone......brown chicken in frying pan in 2 tbsp butter, put in slow cooker

lightly fry 2 sliced onions in a little butter...add to cooker

Put 1/2 cup of tomato ketchup,1 tbsp vinegar, itsp sugar,2 tsp french or one tsp english. 4 tbsp of mango chutney. if you like it spicy put some fresh chilli or tobasco in it. put on high for 1 hour and then turn to low for 2-3 hours. Test for doneness when chicken comes away from bones. It is really yummy.

You can also add smoked BBQ sauce if you like it.
