Before I once again get a mega craving and end up having to do the unspeakable buy readymade from M&S?

I was thinking of making a whole bunch and freezing it. Is this possible?

Perfectly possible.

I batch cook and freeze it so that we have leftover mince I can make a quick cottage pie.

Yes - I freeze left-over mash, and also freeze cottage pie and fish pie with the mash in situ

Yes, I do this all the time.

When reheating it's best to let it defrost first - then whizz it in the microwave adding extra butter and/or milk (the freezing process seems to make it a little drier than when it went in).

Yummy.

(I also freeze it in cupcake tins to make batches of individual portions for the DCs).

yes, I've had no problem freezing it.

A little more butter, milk, cream seems to help IMO.
