Baking cupcakes for daughters baptism party... how can I best freeze them?

make them

cool them... freeze them (flat not on top of each other) then ice when u want them

yep, in tupperware between sheets of greaseproof paper.

DO I need to wrap in clingfilm / foil?

Cling works better in freezer if you can keep the flat and nothing else will squash them they can be iced,
