I'm confused, sponge cakes don't have a biscuit base.
Do you mean a fruit cake like a christmas cake?

Sonilaa · 11/05/2010 10:06

it seems I am confused as well... I mean a sponge base (which is called bisquit base in my language)

sorry for that!

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 10:14

Do you mean like this, which is a victoria sponge or this which is a fruit flan
I had a feeling there was a language barrier going on

Sonilaa, I make it like this:

Basic sponge recipe like this cooked in a wide metal flan dish

Topped with confectioner's custard (creme patisserie)like this

Topped with fruit eg redcurrants, and icing sugar.
