delicious but looks casual/thrown together at the last minute (don't even ask ). For a couple of friends who love good simple food that hasn't been 'ponced about with' too much!

Loads of king prawns, marinaded overnight in garlic, lemon zest and juice, a little red chilli and olive oil. Pan fried and lots of flat leaved parsley added at last minute. Served with a big salad with nice dressing and good bread. Jamie Oliver's chocolate pots for pud.

Or do I need something else? Apart from wine ?

Can I come?

Seriously sounds lovely.

Sounds delicious! They both like prawns, I assume?

Sounds lovely.

bunny, yes, they both like prawns . Seriously, is it not too simple? Was worried it would not be substantial enough (or clever enough ). Don't know why it bothers me so much - maybe because these friends entertain so much and have been so good to me that I stupidly feel under pressure to make my little thank you lunch perfect.

Sounds fab! Can I come too?
Guests are lucky if they even get a sandwich for lunch in this house!

Its not too simple, its good food at its best. Why over-complicate things? I love good, fresh food, and don't notice how simple it is. I notice the taste and texture. The Italians are v good at this ie caprese salad is uber simple, but divine and presented w pride.

I love food and that would be my perfect lunch - light and simple.

Get some prosecco/champagne if you want to make it more special but seriously sounds perfect.

Thank you ladies. You have boosted my confidence

Ooh Prosecco - would a Bellini cocktail be over the top as a pre-lunch appetiser?
Sounds scrummy anyway.

Sounds perfect to me!
