Any one out there into juicing and/or green smoothies. I have just been reading about the health benefits of green smoothies made with some fruit but also green leafy veg like spinach etc. I have just got into juicing again but wondering weather to take the next step and try a semi raw food diet with these green smoothies.
Any one have any experience of these types of diets, recommend any good books or recipies.

Jason Vale's books are very good. I've done a detox on juices before and felt amazing by day 4. You really need to plan and shop in advance as you go through a lot of fruit and veg. I supplemented with wheatgrass, spirulina and a probiotic.

I'm suffering with bloating at the moment so want to give it another go soon.

I did a lot of juicing a few years ago and broccoli and pear makes a lovely green juice which is really delicious. The Nigel Slater juice book is fab.

The Jason Vale stuff looks good, does the book give you a shopping list for the complete detox? Might give it a go, do you feel hungry on it?
Thanks Horton will try that combo.

What blenders are people using? I have seen the 'vitamix' advertised alot. Do you need a really powerful one or just a bog standard?

You need a good juicer and I would think any blender would do.
