I'd like to make some pretty looking cakes for the cafe at a nearly new sale but would like to know what you would use to colour the frosting without using artificial food colouring. What do you top it with?

There were some recipes for making natural coloured frosting in the Metro the other day and I felt really inspired but didn't keep the paper.

Also, how do you make it to the correct consistency when you pipe it and what nozzle would you use to give it that swirly look? I made some a while back with a star nozzle but it was too thick and therefore too rich.

Ooh thanks for the link. I actually made some mauve coloured blue berry frosting today. Think I need a bit more practice as it's very sweet!
