In biscuits? Or is that a major culinary no-no? Am totally dim when it comes to these things!

I would think the answer is no, but no expert in the kitchen!!

You do put a mix of oil and butter when making muffins. But no sure oil alone in biscuits is a good idea.

You could make them and see! you may be about to invent a fantastic recipe!!

Personally I wouldn't see why not, but wouldn't know how much to use? The butter only melts down anyway. Lets us know how it goes if you try and make them.

Going to give it a go! Have been promising ds we would make biscuits all afternoon, so will have to! Will let you know if it is a success or a bin-bound disaster!

Hmm, not great! We used olive oil, and they smelled very 'olive-ey', so I chucked in lots of lemon juice to try and counteract it. tested it on dh who didn't know, and he said they are alright. Might wait until we can get to the shops before we make any more! Oh, and the mixture tasted foul - mine and ds's favourite part of cooking!
