DH is not keen anything spicey. I've put a whole duck on my grocery order but want ideas ready as well so that I can add anything else I need to the list! So your best ideas please!!! Thanks!

coat on honey and serve with an apple and sage "chutney" (not really a chutney, make an apple sauce gently to keep the apple in chinks and use fresh chopped sgae) will dig out the recipe if you fancy it.

I use a slow cooker, but in the oven will be fine. Punnet of cheap plums chopped up, stick of cinnamon, bit of ginger and cook long and slow. Also add some five spice powder, soy sauce and star anise, it's not spicy, just flavoursome. Don't tell DH, he'll love it. I have it with boiled rice and steamed greens. My DD (5) also loves this, might make it this weekend now.

Skim off the excess fat (there will be loads) and freeze in small pots and use for roasting potatoes, amazing. I also keep the bones for stock. [thrifty hausfrau emoticon]

score the fat and fry for approx 4 mins each side and then bung in the over.

meanwhile open a jar of plum jam heat gently with some chinese five spice.

leave the duck to rest the carve and serve with the jam on the side.

my dcs love it

do you like asian?
you can glaze the duck with a mixture of honey, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce (about a table spoon each)
