Freezing pre-packed meat?

Do you know if it's safe to freeze prepacked meat from the chiller cabinet in the supermarket?

There is nothing on it about freezing or not freezing.

I do it quite a lot and fish and meat from the butchers. I've always assumed it is fresh and hasn't been frozen before.

It has to tell you on the packaging if it's been previously frozen. If it doesn't say anything then it's OK to freeze.
