I am hosting an evening and the food has to be themed around New England (don't ask).

So Clam Chowder, Apple Pie, erm erm lobster erm

here?

ooh baked beans! Although that wouldn't really be in the spirit of things.

What do you (traditionally) eat baked beans with?

  • please don't say fishfingers

I eat them with sausages/hotdogs [yum emoticon]

I am quite about Fluffernutter though. Sounds a bit dodgy to me!

We had our honeymoon in New England. We mostly ate:

  • Clam Chowder - with those wee little salty crackers alongside
  • Lobster rolls
  • Cranberry cocktails

Twas delish.

I LOVE those crackers. Will have to get some of those.

Not sure I can stretch to lobster though!

Am probably far too late but

Pizza with paper-thin base with:
garlic mash on the top if you are feeling brave
or no tomato sauce but clams on top (white clam pie) - New Haven, CT

Baked beans, cod, clams, lobster (Maine & Mass)

Anything maple or cheese(VT)

Blueberries, salt-water taffy

fruitstick · 09/05/2010 22:20

Pizza with mash? Not sure I'm that brave

I think cod, clams and beans might be the way to go - maybe with blueberries for dessert.

Do you have a recipe for baked beans?

I know, is odd but not as bad as you'd expect.

Also doughnuts - Boston Creme donuts. No recipe for beans here, I'm afraid.
