Mini mozarella balls wrapped in sundried tomato witha basil leaf on stick

or as above with cherry tomatoes

Chorizo and king prawn skewers

mini kofta balls and samosas with Indian chutneys

thai fish cakes, mini chicken satays and dip

aspargus wrapped in parma ham, lemon mayo dip

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 17:02

Still looking, in the meantime:

Jamie's version. Mine is similar, except I use minced lamb and leave out the nuts.

SuSylvester · 01/05/2010 17:03

god, could they present a recipe in an any more confusing way

rye bread with roll mop herring. natch

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 17:59

Simple Kofta:

1lb minced lamb
2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
half inch root ginger, peeled, chopped or grated
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
1 tbsp chopped fresh mint
sprinkle salt
half to 1 egg

Optional extras:
sprinkle of cumin, garam masala, tiny pinch cinnamon, grated apple (keeps mix moist)

  1. Mix all ingredients together minus the egg
  2. If you have a food processor, you can pulse them to get a finer, stickier mix.
  3. Try rolling one ball, if it doesn't hold together, add some egg to the mix.
  4. Either fry gently over a low heat, or (my preference) shove in the oven on a greased tray.

Kofta Done.

Lovely with a minted yoghurt dip.

Smoked mackerel pate ( made with flaked smoked mackerel, creme fraiche, creamed horseradish, parsley and lemon zest ) in chicory boats

Mini bruschetta with mozarella, grilled chilli and basil leaf ( very gorgeous, very hot )

Also, went to a wedding in Germany last year ( what is it with Germans and canapes eh?)and they had the most gorgeous crispy tortilla type things in the shape of a tiny ice cream cone filled with different delicious somethings - one was a cream cheesy thing, another a creamy fishy thing.

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 18:30

Posh vol au vents then, Taffetacat? grin

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 18:31

Oh arsebiscuits.

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 18:31

Um, that's not a canape suggestion.

taffetacat · 01/05/2010 19:21

er yes Knotty posh German vol au vents

SuSylvester · 01/05/2010 19:22
