Ideas for decorating fairy cakes for a funeral needed

My close friend's father has died and its his funeral on Tuesday. I didn't know him nor the rest of her family. I have however been asked whether I would mind doing some "of your nice fairy cakes". How the hell do you decorate fairy cakes for a funeral. What the heck can you put on top? My normal fair of fairys, pirates, etc don't really seem appropriate?

Any ideas?
