Can anyone recommend a good company please?

Riverford

Abel & Cole

or you could see if your local farm shop does deliveries?

I've used Riverford and Abel & Cole before - Able & Cole you can exclude things from your box (so say I never want to get cabbages etc), Riverford you seem to get a good quantity in the boxes, but contents are fixed with no op-outs.

If you can get milk delivered (www.milkandmore.com), Dairy Crest do local or organic or general fruit/veg boxes which are good value and they always turn up. No choice on contents but there's always been a good variety.

Farmaround aren't bad either. Google your town and veg delivery and see if there's a small firm near you as that may be cheaper and fresher as well as more environmentally friendly.

we do pretty well with riverford - have used them for about 3 years. We choose each box we want each week.
We have had a bit of a cabbage glut this winter

this thread has reminded me that DP is working from home on Fridays, so we can actually order from Riverford again

Thanks for your suggestions.
There doesn't seem to be much local (or I'm crap at googling!) so I think Riverford sounds the best for me.

The local ones aren't always on google - ask around and see if you can find anything. I get a veg bag from my local children's centre which runs a fresh food co-op - almost all the food is grown on an allotment by volunteers, it's really good value, I pay £2 per week for a small bag which has more than enough for me and DS.

I love my Riverford box for so many reasons.
