22mth DS won't eat anything I cook.....

honestly I'm not that bad a cook!

every time I cook him anything he will (if lucky) take a couple of bites and the reject the rest. This turns into a battle until I cave in and feed him the inevitable rice cakes and whatever fruit is available

this is the same whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner

I usually try and feed him what we eat minus and salt/chillies/pepper etc

At wits end. Bored of throwing perfectly good food out and worried about his diet.

He spends a couple of days a week at nursery and according to the activity sheets he brings back eats for britain while there.

Help?

etc

My ds3 does this!! He has only just started doing it in the last couple of months though. he has a bite or two and then hands me back the plate saying "don't like it" I just offer again and then, like you, cave in and give him a yoghurt or a drink of milk. I'm hoping it's just a phase of him learning he doesn't have to do/eat anything if he doesn't feel like it. I'm not going to make him.
My ds3 goes to nursery too and his sheets say things like 'had 3rds' underlined!
I don't think it's my cooking because he used to eat it previously with no problems, unless it is and he has decided it's shit!

there are several threads on this subject at the moment. try not to turn it into a battle - especiallay if its one they win - just chill - if they don't want it just leave it and say you can have it later. if they are hungry they will eat it. don't react - this gives the child too much attention. if you provide something else instead you are teaching the child it can reject stuff and just eat what it wants - you will end up with a fussy eater.
