Hi, I'm making a lunch for girlfriends where the main ingredient is king prawns, marinaded in garlic, lemon and olive oil, stir fried and sprinkled with flat leaved parsley. (Made this for the kids tonight and it was yummy) I want to make it a bit special though and apart from a nice fresh salad, is there anything else I could serve either as a simple starter or as a side dish which would give it a little more wow factor? Or should I just leave it alone and serve with decent bread?

All opinions gratefully received

Nothing could be nicer.

Oh, and some chilled wine.

Thank you. It was my initial thought (to leave it alone) but then lost confidence in the simplicity

Chilled wine was a given

Heat a little pastis in a ladle and then pour over and light with a match. Yum

Don't marinade in garlic. Get soy sauce, fish sauce, chilli, ginger in a bowl. Slice 1/2 a mango really finely. Soften rice noodles in boiling water then rinse in cold water. Drain and put into a bowl. Put king prawns over the top, add mango and then pour soy sauce mix on top. toss it all together and then sprinkle with loads of coriander and enjoy Grin
