I know they are actually easy, but please humour me, I am so impressed with myself

All the ultra complicated things I've cooked in my life, and some bits of stale bread today outrank them all. Have just had a fantastic chicken Caesar salad with my home made croutons - awesome

I mean, how can I ever go back to buying packs from the supermarket again now? They may just be a crouton to you, but to me they are little cubes of revolution!!

I make croutons to use up the oil from jars of sundried tomatoes. Bagels make nice croutons.

Oooh I bet they're nice dunked in the oil that's left behind in the pot after you've eaten olives - with bagel croutons do you cut into thin rings - like those Phileas Fogg bagel 'crisps' you used to be able to buy? Or just chunks like normal?

I cut them into small cubes, coat in oil & bake in the oven til toasted.

Love homemade croutons! DD does a wicked one, with lemon rind, juice and balsamic vinegar. Wicked!
