What can I serve these with?

I have just made fishcakes with cheesy onion mash, peas and tinned salmon for the kids. What shall I serve them with? The kids don't care about correct food with certain food so anything is fine.

TIA.

Salady stuff?

DrSpechemin · 20/04/2010 16:38

baked beans

custard

We usually have fiscakes with salad, as I think they are a bit 'carby' to have with potatoes.

But if that doesn't bother you, a baked potato or cous cous?

I don't know whether it would go (as I don't eat fish) but how about a cheap & easy tomato salsa. I make it to go with corn fritters.

Dice a couple of tomatoes & mix them in with some ketchup. DS1 loves the stuff .... then again he loves anything with ketchup

Obviously you could also go all posh & make a "proper" one

Tinned sweetcorn or baked beans.
