I looked at the rangemaster and compared it against the Brittania and it so flimsy, cheaply made. May look pretty but I would strongly advise you to see them and go to a really good catering outlet not currys etc. I was really surprised how poor they were.

If your going for a range cooker go for strength, customer service and overall durability.

I did spend over £2000 on my dual fuel one but worth it.

There is also Falcon which is good and other french makes. Previous to this I had a Cannon standard cooker and this was excellent.

I have a gas top and electric ovens. I'm not impressed with the grill pan handle its very cheap and thinking of swapping it for better.

I also went for the 50/50 split and wished I'd gone for the 70/30 as the width of the oven is the same as a standard oven and stupid me didnt think of that!

We have a Rangemaster, it is superb and we have been really delighted with it! We have both gas and electric ovens - a sort of tall narrow electric oven (and it is narrow - no wide roasting pans etc) and a squareish gas oven with 2 shelves.

I was amazed the first time I cooked in it as the food took exactly as long as it said on the packet - made me realise just how rubbish my last oven was!

It looks great, is easy to clean - and I do believe that they use British stainless steel to make it - not the cheaper far Eastern sort. Or at least they did. So I am not on board with the flimsy, cheaply made comment as I know that's not the case or it wasn't at least when we got ours a couple of years ago.

thankyou so much for your comments, right now i do really like the look of the rangemaster and i think it is good enough for us - for me look and colour is just as important as quality - i just love the deep green classic or elan...now toying between induction or ceramic...
