HELP! How do I soften up shortbread mixture?

Desperate for activities to do with kids over Easter we made shortbread mixture yesterday. I wrapped it in clingfilm and put it in the fridge overnight ready for us to roll out and make shortbread star biscuits today. Just got it out of fridge and it's rock solid, if I try and do anything with it, it just falls to bits. Think my fridge must be a bit cold! Anything I can do to save it, will it get better as it warms up? Do I add more butter? Thanks for any tips!!

no worries, was fine once it had warmed up a bit. Can you tell I've not made biscuits before?!
