So i've got some chicken and have decided to make chicken pie for tea. Will be doing pie top only, no probs with pastry as have my trusty food processor but hvae a question re my gravy.

I have some of Jamies Xmas gravy in the freezer and will be using this in my pie however do I need to allow for further reduction in the oven? How much is a wise amount to put in as I don't want it to bubble ver and go to waste? Do i just make as normal stick half in and leave half for adding at the table just in case?

cheers folks

Your gravy won't reduce by much in the oven as you have a pastry lid, albeit with vents.

Ruby i do that if i am short of time as defo seems to be quickier don't know why or if it is but i think it tastes better cooked as a pie don't know why.

silver thanks will make sure it is the right consistency (sp) before i put it in the oven then.

Oh another quick one, i can put the chicken in cold can';t i?
