Inspiration please - toddler easter party

Oh help... have invited a dozen preschoolers for an easter egg hunt this week, and they have all accepted.

We are the afternoon nursery class, so tend to have lunch early... have a feeling that many will still be here at "lunchtime" probably most with mums in tow. Whole family has been ill this weekend (DH is close to death of course) so haven't given this any real thought...

Am dithering between doing sandwiches - but sandwiches for 24 will take ages - or making a bit pot of macroni cheese/spag bol/chilli?? Surely all preschoolers will eat macroni? For afters/elevenseess, I thought i could just buy some hot cross buns, and maybe make some rabbit fairy cakes?

Any better ideas?

You have to have wee choc cripsie nests with mini eggs in, surely they're compulsary!

if you can be bothered you could cut the sandwiches into chick/bunny shapes with biscuit cutters, but as you say pasta'd be easier I'd go with that. I'd probably do huge pot of pasta and have option of cheese sauce or tomato sauce (my ds who's 6 and eats almost everything is not a fan of cheese sauce, sorry). Leave some plain for just grated cheese on top. I'd put out plate with carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, grapes etc laid out separately.

SOunds lovely!

Thanks! Good ideas... esp about the nests - DD can be in charge of those... I will ignore the mess

maybe we'll make gingerbread biscuits in the shape of bunnies too....

Please pray for sunny weather for us - our forecast is sleet

Another idea is baguette pizza's? Big pot tomato sauce then decorate with whatever you have and top with cheese. If you cut it into slices, you'll have lots of little ones, but you need to toast briefly first.

Thanks - that sounds fun... black olive eyes and pepper mouths and all!
