I have a topside joint of beef that I am going to do today for dinner. I want to cook it in my slow cooker. Where do I start?

Whenever I do beef it turns out awful so I'm hoping to get it right this time but not sure where to start!

Also can I cook my vegetables in there too (potatoes, carrots and parnships) like I usually would when slow cooking?

beef cooked in a slow cooker turns out really juicy and breaks up very easy. veg in there at same time.... sounds delish!
