puddings for wedding reception

hi, a friend has asked us all to bring a pudding/dessert to her wedding reception, which is pretty casual and a bbq in the evening outside (weather permitting) so I need some fool proof recipes and ideas for a fantastic dessert that can be scoffed 'by hand' as it isnt really a sit down meal.

HELP please! I am a good cook, but my mind has gone blank, all i can think of is pavlova.

Individual fruit tarts?

Cupcakes?

Choux?

have been thinking about maybe a mountain of profiteroles and some funky fairy cakes.

I should clarify - she hasnt asked all the guests to bring pudding, some will bring bbq bits and some will bring salads etc, we have to bring something and mine is pudding. dont mind at all, but do want it to be perfect.

Pavlovas would need to be very tiny to be eaten sucessfully 'by hand' I think.

What about macaroons - very trendy at the moment.

Or make some alcoholic ice creams and serve in smart cones - you could even make brandy snap cones.

Little chocolate brownies?

profiteroles sound great. We actually had the French style tower of profiteroles for our wedding cake and it was served up for pudding with fruit salad it was wonderful, just the right balance of tasty pudding and freshness from the fruit after a long day and lots of food!

chocolate covered strawberries? Kind of as a side dish to a more 'centrepiece' pud I'd think.

I second profiteroles idea.
