DH is Irish and I want to surprise him with a St Patricks Day dinner. Was thinking Irish stew for main (easy) but what for dessert?

Any ideas lovely peeps?

According to the Times last week, Irish cuisines includes Lemon taglietelle.

Seriously.

Of course! All those lemon groves in Donegal!!!

And taglietelle lol! Don't think DHs family use any other source of carb except potato. I fondly remember a Xmas dinner there which was served with no less than 4 different types of potato!

Anything with cabbage in it.

Irish DHs lurve cabbage.

Cabbage cheesecake springs to mind, or cabbage crumble, and mine always goes for cabbage and ice-cream.

That's a joke of course. The truth is that a real Irish DH will not want a dessert, but will move straight on to the whiskey. Hope you've got a good one in

He'll never get out to work tomorrow if I give him whiskey (Bushmills of course!) as well as the Guinness I was planning to serve!

Was thinking of a simple apple pie and icecream, as inspired by whatsthestory
