You could but if you are doing frog ponds I would be inclined to go for green jelly. I made them in clear plastic cups an had a chocolate frog set in the middle standing up with slices of green grape on the top for little pads. Or you could use little plastic frogs depending of whether the boys are old enough to know not to eat them!

yes you can buy blue food colouring and make it yourself with gelatine, flavoured with sugar and lemon juice.
