Cannot buy crumpets here, so will hope that someone has a recipe.

C'mon MNetters. It is a staple of the Good British Kitchen. Someone must have a good recipe.

I've been meaning to try this BBC recipe for ages. I need the little metal crumpet rings (or decent sized metal cookie cutters). Can't vouch for it, of course.

Got the Hairy Bikers book for Mothers Day and made crumpets from it last night. Everyone agreed they were scrummy and none left now! Will post the recipe later.

There was an international crumpet club on here a while ago... I use Delia's recipe, which was good. Then I did Dan Lepard's "picklets" and never looked back ...

dylsmum1998 · 15/03/2010 20:14

hairy bikers recipe is this the one in the book?

If you don't have the metal rings(and ime they stick like buggers anyway) you can just make them a bit thinner like pikelets double yummy

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/03/2010 14:20

dylsmum yep that's the one!
let me know what you think of them as they sure looked good on tv!
btw.the chicken curry recipe in that book is well worth a try too

dylsmum1998 · 16/03/2010 22:10

ty I will try the recipe at the weekend using shroeders suggestion of making them pikelety as I have no rings. Will let you know progress/disaster once it has happened
