I'm making a chocolate cake for dd2's first birthday. Can I use just melted milk chocolate to ice it? will that work? do I need to add anything to it?

You can just used melted chocolate, that'll be fine. Alternatively you could melt a bar of chocolate and add about the same volume of double cream and whip like mad! This will give you a ganache. Pour it on straight away and it will set hard.

thanks! ooh I have cream-do I just add it to the chocolate while it is still over the heat? do I need to heat it up first?
