Inspiration for Leeks

Never cooked leeks before, thinking cheese sauce maybe top with breadcrumbs and cheese for a bake with roast potatoes - like cauli cheese or too bland??

I have 3 leeks in the fridge and a fussy teenager coming to dinner who eats veg if hidden in cheese/pasta sauce plus toddler

Ooh, I used to love cheesy leek bake as a teenager!

cheese sauce + leeks + mash on top like a shepherd's pie.

yum.

I put leeks in everything from spagetti carbonara, tomato pasta sauce, soup, kedgeree, to gratin-style as above.

Brill, thank you, so it's a great 'filler' to sneak in extra veg and we ended up getting chinese last night so having a bash later. Have got some sweet potatoe so going to have a try for dinner tonight. Thank you!

oh yes cheesy potato -leeks mixed in with mashed potato loads of grated cheese and cheese on top,

add leeks to other veg like broccoli, cauli, carrots and potatoes and cover in cheese or white sauce, top with grated cheese,

leeks with pasta, cheese and ham is quick and easy.

Leeks added to pasta sauce or a bolognese.

My dad used to soak them in lime juice and cook in microwave in chunky pieces and that was always nice but tangy.

I usually chop them into small bits add a it of water and microwave for 5 mins for 1 leek then add it to whatever.
