How to use apple puree

Hi. I have several jars of apple puree in the freezer, about a pint in each. How would you use them? Don't eat roast pork! I'd love some dessert ideas for visit of friends in a couple of days.

I just eat it neat! Love it and always have. DS2 is the same and we fight over left-over apple sauce now! If you don't fancy that, you can use it as a sauce for rice pudding, yoghurt or ice-cream.

Nigella uses it in her granola can post recipe if you are interested.

Also have some others using apple puree:

  • apple bread
  • apple sauce cake
  • apple and pear cake
  • apple sauce raisin muffins

I have pureed apple with my porridge every morning. I also love it just swirled in generousy with natural yoghurt. The boys eat it with rice pudding. Sometimes we have yoghurt, with apple puree and cornflakes on top ... yummy!

I have been looking for ready made apple puree! I wanted to make a crumble.

I think you maybe able to use as a sauce at the bottom of a sweet souffle (spelling??) like Vanilla and Apple.

OK, I was just being very uninspired, wasn't I? I love it too - we made it when the lawn was just covered with windfall apples last year.

Make a simple sponge cake mix to spoon over it and bake (perhaps with a little vanilla in too...) om nom nom

Sounds very grown up, making sponge cakes. Must try it.
