Making banana loaf I have made a million times but too busy and have melted the butter I was supposed to be just softening. Disaster?

nah, no prob. what do you think is going to happen to it in the oven when it gets hot? just mix it in. lots of cakes are made with oil in hot places.

Thanks - I know cookies are flatter and smoother with melted butter - more crispy than chewy but with all the mashed banana these will be fine. On the other hand I have now got some clarified butter for er...dipping artichokes into. So that's a relief.
