I bought some curly kale yesterday whilst at a local farm because it said it is very rich in iron, would this be ok to give to my 6 month old son and also what can i do with it??

Many Thanks

Cook in a little simmering water, then liquidise it with, say, milk and potato to make a thickish soup for him. Its usually just eaten as cabbage. You can include some meat if he has that. Or you could add it, liquisied, to cheese sauce.

DEFFO BRILL

If you do simmer it in water, you should use the water you cooked it in as it will have a lot of the goodness in it. Would start slowly with six month old or you might have extra pooh-ey nappies!

How did you cook it in the end?

Janbo25 · 18/07/2005 22:19

we just lightly boiled it to retain as much of the iron as possible
