picky eaters/healthy breakfast dilemma

I am so mad, my husband criticizes me for giving the children homemade muffins for breakfast (with lots of eggs inside!). They are picky, at least they eat them along with apple, good no? He says it's 'ghastly'. Of course he provides no other solution like perhaps cooking the brekkers himself. There's an idea! Aargh! They hate school food, Any ideas for a healthy breakfast for super picky eaters? They hate yogurt so let me stop you there! THANKS!!!

What's wrong with muffins? As long as your kids aren't overweight I can't see the problem. They need food before they walk to school.

You could make them with wholemeal flour and raisins or apple and cinnammon or hazelnuts. Or you could do little carrotcake versions.

I'm dead impressed The best I ever manage is apple & raisin porridge.

Kathyjelly- you are a star, glad you are impressed by my baking skills. He says they have 'sugar'. LORD! Not much! Of course he often gives them ice cream for dinner when he takes care of them if I am working. Hmm..MEN!
I am going to puree apple into those babies, maybe nuts too. Those little oddballs hate fruit and nuts! Good ideas though! I'll sneak them in! Thanks

How about pancakes? I often do banana and blueberry pancakes, with mixed wholemeal and white flour and no sugar - usually the bananas are sweet enough. Or add raisins for sweetness. I'm sure you can sneak other fruits in too if you put your mind to it! As for nuts, I ground them and use them in cookies. Ground roasted hazelnuts smell like heaven. I'm sure they go into muffins too.

Solved brekkers dilemma...boycotted it n told hubs if he didn't approve of my muffins he could make breakfast from now on which he has been doing- GREAT! Extra sleep for me...
He created stonehenge out of bananas yesterday for them the wackadoodle. They looked at him like he had 11 heads. Banana Stonehenge was not touched. Cereal again.
