So for a biscuit recipe using ground almonds, instead of almond essence would you use the orange, or vanilla??

Thanks!

vanilla, imo

vanilla for similarity but orange would still make them delicious

Thanks!! Will try vanilla. They are going to be very experimental as I have other ingredients missing too but happen to have almond butter (ie like peanut butter) that I've never used...

Better go feed DS!

How did the biscuits work out, Numpty?

NumptyMum · 03/03/2010 17:21

Experimental! I think the almond butter lent a slightly foosty edge to them (it's a bit old..). Then when I tasted the mix I decided it was a bit too sweet just with the vanilla so added orange AS WELL. However I've been scoffing them today so I'm either desperate or they are actually quite good .

DS is more discerning - either that or he's put off by the appearance (a bit grainy due to the almond butter) and the lack of icing...
