lemon topping for cheesecake?

If I use ready made lemon curd to top cheesecake do Ineed to do anything to it first? I wondered if it'd be soft enough to spread.

Just make sure it's a yummy yummy luxury one. FWIW (and after extensive research) I can confirm that Sainbo's Be Good To Y/self one is the best - almost jelly like and really lemony
