Can I use the foil casing from the shop bought lemon meringue pie?

Very simple question, please help.
Anyone with a clue about baking should be able to advise me.
Obviously I could go out and buy a flan tin but will the foil tin from a shop bought lemon meringue pie do the job?

Yes you can reuse it , to make a flan. If I have understood your question correctly. Just put it on a baking tray when cooking to support it.

Thank you!
I'm going to give that a go now then. I thought it might be possible, and as you say I'll support it on a baking tray because its not very strong and might not hold its shape otherwise.
